Fatigue/low energy is not an illness in itself; it is a deep exhaustion that affects our daily joy and our ability to accomplish our goals and purpose in life. Temporary fatigue is usually a message from the body requiring us to take notice and make lifestyle changes. Persistent fatigue is the body’s way of signaling us that a chronic disease or disorder is present, this always requires medical attention. Some symptoms of fatigue are constant weariness that lasts more than 2 weeks, trouble concentrating, apathy or lack of energy for activities that formerly were of interest, depression or other personality changes. Other disorders which can contribute to fatigue or low energy are insomnia, overwork, too much exercise (or too little,) nutritional deficiency, allergies, adrenal insufficiency, anemia, candidiasis, cardiovascular, diabetes, environmental toxicity, autoimmune disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome or other medical conditions. Fatigue can be caused by several things, but most often by exhausted adrenal glands and decline in liver function. Stress and dehydration are large contributors to endocrine exhaustion and can lead to several conditions such as hypothyroidism, low energy, weight gain, and depression.Typically fatigue is greatly improved with a detoxification program. By allowing the liver to catch up and eliminate toxins, other organs like the adrenals and thyroid function better. Energy levels increase, weight loss occurs, complexions clear up, and an overall feeling of better health develops.
