Children’s Emotional Health

Children pass through several stages, which affect their physical, mental and social well-being, on their road to becoming adults. Each stage of development from infancy (birth to age two), early childhood (ages 3 to 8 years), later childhood (ages 9 to 12) and adolescence (ages 13 to 18) comes with unique emotional challenges. It is important at each stage of development that they feel supported as they learn to understand and express their emotions in a healthy way. Just like adults, children and adolescents; may experience periods of stress, anxiety or depression; may feel anger, fear, shame or low self-esteem; or they may struggle with social or academic challenges they cannot solve on their own. Being a child or an adolescent is not always easy; it can include varied emotional difficulties. In order to help your children cope with this stressful period, help them find their strengths and encourage them to practice activities they are good at.

I have large experience working with children and adolescents, helping them to cope with this complicated and confusing period. During the treatment they learn to have more control over their life, improve self-esteem and have more self-confidence.
