The New Children- Are we Ready for them?
Posted by Jeff Lucas  |  Tagged: , ,  |  No Comments

Now is a time of vast planetary changes. It is a time of earthquakes and other natural disasters, and according to some scientists even the earth’s poles shifting. Many seers and visionaries have predicted that such a time as ours would come when physical changes, representing a shaking of the ‘old foundations’, are actually a prelude to a new Golden Age of peace and love on earth for all mankind for many years. Given the current negative state of affairs on our planet, it is difficult at times to imagine that such a thing will happen. On the other hand, many observers are noticing a new breed of children coming into the planet who will be instrumental in bringing about major positive changes for our earth. Such children have been called indigo, rainbow, and crystal children. Several publications address this phenomenon of the new children. I suspect some of you have already heard or read about them. And I am sure that you may be raising your own indigo or crystal or rainbow children in your families. These children are often the ‘system busters’, causing a great deal of discomfort for those attached to the status quo in families, schools, and other social systems.

Many of these children are born with a very clear sense of who they are and why they are here, saying profound, astounding things like, ‘I am God’, and ‘I know why I am here’ and are ready to help remove the old, worn out patterns of thinking and behaving. Indeed, if the world is to enter a Golden Age of love, peace, and compassion, drastic changes need to occur. These old, useless, destructive negative patterns of thought and behavior need to be totally transformed into positive, sustainable human values of truth, peace, love, right conduct, and non-violence.
These new children need our support and understanding. Many feel oppressed by authority figures trying, unsuccessfully, to project the old, useless belief systems and ways of living onto them. We can help them to fulfill their mission of planetary upliftment by listening to them, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and assisting them on the path they are choosing to express what they know to be true for themselves. The new children are ready for coming planetary changes. We need to be able to get out of their way in the most positive sense. This does not mean totally giving up on being a parent or other authority figure and not setting appropriate boundaries for such children.

I will be writing more about this phenomenon in other blogs and discussing some practical considerations in dealing with these children. We can, as a healing community, collaborate and co-create practical ways to approach this issue of the new children and I very much look forward to your ideas about how to facilitate their mission.

Greetings!

Dear Blog Readers of ChicagoHealers.com, I send you my warmest and most cordial greetings! This first column is my introduction to you for us to hopefully become better acquainted. First, I am very happy to ‘come on board’ with Chicago Healers.com to expand the possibility to inform people in the Chicago area and beyond of the unique, diverse services I offer in improving the quality of their lives. I have always felt different, more open and experimental than many of my  colleagues, so feel quite suited to such an alternative healing website.

I have been a practicing mental health and addictions counselor for more than 25 years now in the Chicagoland area.  I have lived in the Chicago area for most of my life, except when I went off to college for undergraduate (University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, B.S. Psychology 1982) and graduate (University of Oregon, M.A. Counseling Psychology 1986) degrees.  I have worked with a wide range of clients ranging from children through geriatric clients in mental health and addictions treatment settings.  I have much training and experience in the area of group/organizational systems psychology, authority and leadership in groups, group psychotherapy, and addictions. I worked at a large addictions treatment center for 14 years in Chicago and Downers Grove.  I have been in private practice since 2000 at Isenberg and Associates in Naperville, where I have expanded the scope of my practice to include work with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of mental and emotional challenges.  I have thoroughly enjoyed this work and went into full-time private counseling and psychotherapy practice in 2003.

Given the many brain challenges that many of my clients face, I decided to integrate a potent computer-assisted technology for the brain (brainwave optimization) in 2010 along with my clinical practice (Center for Brain Training, Naperville, IL).  Many clients have found it very useful to either do the ‘brain training’ alone or along with counseling and psychotherapy.  Along with the above, I have an abiding interest in Transpersonal Psychology, and have been able to integrate techniques that facilitate clients effectively addressing their spiritual concerns. In my own spiritual journey, I have taken several pilgrimages to India and have cultivated a regular meditation practice.  I am open to all that the great wisdom traditions of the world have to offer us.   I have been happily married since 1994, and have a 16 y.o. son.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve whatever clients come my way, and I take the opportunity to be of service to others as a sacred task of upliftment for both clients and myself.
